I’m not one to pour scorn on the idea that writing ‘f**k off’ on an exam paper deserves 2 marks out of 24, because I agree that it does at least get a point across in an extremely effective manner (Apparently, the kid would have got 3 marks if he’d added an exclamation mark!) The fact that a kid felt compelled to write that on an exam paper is slightly worrying, but I don’t see the underlying issue with giving a tokenistic 2 marks for at least being able to spell.
