No, no, not the thing with David Davis.
Possibly deserving of more attention, the Prime Minister made a statement today that threw precedent out the window. When asked during this morning’s press conference if the Labour Party was headed for bankruptcy, Gordon Brown an uncharacteristic one-word answer.
He said “no”. Then asked for the next question.
Of course, he didn’t break with the tradition of lying during press conferences. Labour has £7 million of debt to pay within the next month, and is going to have to beg the unions for funding. Maybe they could learn a few things from Barack Obama’s campaign. It was quite refreshing, though, to have a genuine, straight up bald-faced lie, instead of the usual campaign of misinformation, disinformation, half-truths and statistics.
Perhaps we’re seeing a return of conviction politics after all.
