I can but hope that this move has gone as smoothly as it appears to have done. The [sic] weblog now resides at http://stuartsharpe.co.uk for all your reading pleasure. All links to the old site should automatically transfer over to the new one, which is nice.
Otherwise, all other things being equal, the blog is exactly the same now as it was this morning… Except it has a cooler web address.

On closer inspection – what’s happened to your footnotes?

Don’t know what’s happened to the footnotes – there’s an issue with the footnotes plugin, but I can’t work out what.
Speed seems to have improved from this morning to now. Probably an issue with the server which has been sorted out now. The site’s being hosted by a company called Big Wet Fish Hosting, who are remarkably cheap in comparison with my old hosts, streamline.net,. This is particularly impressive since they seem to have better features too – more MySQL databases (you couldn’t have any on Streamline on the basic plan, on the ‘power user’ plan you could have 5; BWF’s cheapest plan includes 15). The biggest downside I’ve noticed so far is that streamline had unlimited bandwidth, but I don’t expect to hit the 30Gb limit on BWF’s service so that shouldn’t be a problem. Oh, and the BWF hosted site was dead slow overnight.
Anyway, enough of the ‘Inside Baseball’ stuff. Enjoy the blog.
Footnotes sorted. Page cache isn’t working, but who cares about optimisation, eh.
