Me? Anti-sports? Definitely not! Nope, many congrats to the clean athletes.

I was having a bit of go at the way this gvt has left flood victims to suffer, still, and the uber-high cost of travel.

I suppose I have an issue with professional competitors in the Games, and the whole idea of GB getting X medals to justify future expense.

The US is also moaning about subjective scoring, such as in the gymnastics. It's getting like the Eurovision Song contest.

Both the British Golds have been after a stunning last-second dash, pipping their opponents to the post in great style. The swimming race is well worth watching - two British girls shooting forward to snatch the gold of Katie Hoff at the very last moment. Human tragedy painted on the faces of the competitors. Marvelous stuff.

Your comment sounds disparaging. I don't get the level of anti-sports feeling among internet commenters, I don't see what's wrong with competitive sports myself.

As one of the however-many-billions who watched the opening ceremony, I'm pretty shocked that part of the streaming was recorded, even for the spectators within the stadium.
<a href="http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/World-News/Beijing-Olympics-Opening-Ceremony-Faked-Firework-Footprints-Added-For-TV/Article/200808215075291?lpos=World%2BNews_3&lid=ARTICLE_15075291_Beijing%2BOlympics%2BOpening%2BCeremony%2BFaked%253A%2BFirework%2BFootprints%2BAdded%2BFor%2BTV" rel="nofollow">
Sky News article</a>

I haven't seen any of the events but gather a UK swimmer has got a gold, along with a cyclist. Necessary strengths in today's Britain.
