Climate Change could prevent a coming ice age
Based on geological history, the Earth would be expected to enter a new ice age in 10,000 to 100,000 years. Researchers say even small changes in carbon dioxide levels right now could prevent this from happening.
In my mind the problem with Global Warming is not that we might damage the Earth – the planet has survived far worse. The problem is that human societies and cities have been built in a rather more permanent manner than the ever-changing climate of the planet will allow.
Even if we stop Anthropogenic Climate Change (or, heaven forbid, if it isn’t even happening), Natural Climate Change will eventually present exactly the same problems.

“we need to solve them” for our own sake
Someone needs to “drill” home to the Sarah Palin tendency that species going extinct, natural resources being used up, & every scrap of land & square inch of sea being mercilessly exploited will affect us sooner or later.
Look Man, I’m a marine biologist and I know that the whole World is gonna die out. All that will be left are the ants and they will develop huge antlers which is bad as it will make them top heavy and they won’t be able to eat properly- all this because of global warming. I’ve been to the Maldives and seen the islands drop into the ocean, the beautiful ocean which left me with severe neck injuries when I dived into what I thought was a deep lake but turned out to be a puddle. This can be blamed on man-made climate change and being a marine biologist I know what I’m talking about.
You people who do not believe that the Planet is warming up better get a grip soon. We are all gonna fry and frankly I’m glad as it will teach the pluto/beaura/techno/every other crats that We aint gonna take it anymore.
Remember a fox is a human with four legs. Now, what do you say to that? Hey? Hey?
That is true in a sense. The planet doesn’t need to be “saved”. If anything needs to be saved, it’s humanity. Gaia would just laugh if we died out*, but if there are environmental problems we need to solve them.
I think our living as we are is causing severe problems for ourselves. The rate of population growth worldwide is far too high & levels of consumption is not sustainable. We can have a better, more liveable future but only if we make sure of it. Business as usual is not an option.
*not meant to be taken literally, I don’t believe in an entity called “Gaia”, I mean life on earth would merrily continue without us.
