Speaking of Massive Public Sector Cuts…
Dizzy thinks there may be a ‘PFI Bombshell’ exploding under us, and it could be as soon as April 2009. What’s more, his logic seems pretty reasonable. The government is now essentially shouldering a huge proportion of the PFI risk, paying premiums for any benefits from the projects, and putting the future of thousands of public service projects like schools and hospitals in jeopardy.
The sad thing is that PFI debt isn’t even included in the debt statistics for the country, so when I said [cref 1200 Gordon Brown’s legacy would be cuts in public services], I wasn’t even talking about this.
Anyone got any good news lying around?
My dog came back from the vet yesterday: I didn’t think I’d see her again.
Another day less to the general election?
Um…that’s it.
Just wait until a couple of PFI companies go bust – then the **** will really hit Labour’s fan.
