He seems to think that when David Cameron talks about spending less money, he means that Tiny Tim won’t be allowed any wood for his fire to stave off the bitter cold, nor more than a few morsels of turkey to share between the family this Christmas – but that when [cref 1126 Alistair Darling spends less money], he’s making necessary savings and increasing the efficiency of government.
Not that politicians are ever duplicitous or biased, of course – it’s only the way the media interpret them that makes them seem that way.
