Pretty amusing bingo card with the main points against man-made global warming and links to ‘refutations’ of each (in inverted commas because I haven’t read or researched the links and thus give them no implied credibility or lack thereof – no sarcasm intended).
I still haven’t fallen into either side of the Man Made (or Anthropogenic, to the snobs) Global Warming debate, although I’ve always erred towards scepticism in absolutely everything in my life so far. I’m pleased to see that my own pragmatic view of global warming doesn’t appear on their list, though. My view, of course, being that we need to protect ourselves from the effects of changing climates more than we need to break our economies trying (in a very literal sense) to hold back the tide.
Get this fact stuck into your skulls, people: the climate will change, no matter what we do. Trying to prevent it changing is self defeating short-termism.
Update: Patently suggests another square missing from the card – a decade-long cooling trend.
Ummm, I thought you said you hadn’t decided (re: your last para) …
Also, I hope you’re suitably sceptical towards the rather inaptly named sceptics. You’re sceptical that smoking cause cancer too, right? After all, there are several prominent doctors saying it doesn’t.
