Playing The Beatles Backwards: The Ultimate Countdown

A mammoth list of all 185 songs by the Fab 4, arranged in order of preference, along with justifications for the positions of each track. I would disagree with a lot of the positions (for instance, I Want You (She’s So Heavy) is one of my favourites, but unaccountably comes third from bottom), and quite a bit of the factual information is patchy-at-best, but that shouldn’t detract from what is a truly Herculean effort to name and order the entire catalogue of the greatest band who ever lived. I also can’t argue against a single track in the top 13.

The real reason for taking the time to peruse this list, though, is to remind yourself of all the fantastic music these guys produced. Even the songs right at the bottom of this list have a certain greatness to them which is sorely lacking in all but the absolute best of music. A list like this is a true monument to The Beatles in all their glory. Now, I’m off to listen to Abbey Road. Then Revolver. Then Sgt Pepper.
