I received a very nice email from Apple this morning informing me that Baby Grand, my first iPhone App, is now ‘Ready For Sale’ on the App Store [iTunes Link]. I’m extraordinarily pleased - I’d become convinced, after a week of waiting for approval, that it was going to be rejected on some spurious grounds. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case!
Here’s the description I wrote for the App Store page:
Baby Grand is the iPhone Piano designed especially for young children.
Make up songs and sing along to nursery rhymes with a keyboard made for toddlers. There’s no unnecessary buttons or distractions to get in the way and spoil the fun, and thanks to Baby Grand’s ‘Play-Along’ mode, you and your little ones can learn how to play all the songs. Finally, an iPhone App that’s fun for all the family!
Currently Baby Grand comes with 6 songs:
- Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
- Row Row Row Your Boat
- Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush
- There’s A Hole In My Bucket
- The Wheels on the Bus
- Pop Goes the Weasel
Baby Grand is on sale now on the App Store for £2.37 ($3.99 in the USA). My 3-yr-old daughter loves playing with it. Click this button below to go straight there:
I’ve described it as ‘Version 0.9’ on the App Store, because it has about 90% of the features I’ve been trying to get in to the 1.0 release. Look out for the 1.0 update very soon. This is the first full piece of software I’ve released publicly, so I’m really excited about the whole thing. Hopefully it’ll be the first of many!

Hey, that’s great news. I hope it works out and you make massive bags of cash.
Did you find the iPhone SDK easy to work with?
