Flight Control Tips and Tricks
For anyone who doesn’t follow me on Twitter, my life has been somewhat taken over recently by a rather excellent iPhone game called FlightControl by Firemint Software.1 Neil Middleton has provided some excellent hints and tips for the budding aircraft controller. The best one:
3. Land them, and land them fast
The game is a whole load easier if you have less aircraft on the screen. So, try and get them off the screen as soon as possible! Once something appears, straight line it to it’s landing point – there’s no point in nice big pretty curves – this is a game after all!
Not that I would mention any names, of course, but I figured it might come in handy for people who haven’t got high scores in the low 200’s…

Sorry everyone, you’ll have to forgive our Derek. He hasn’t been blessed with exceptional reading or writing skills. But still, at least he tries his best, and we should encourage him to keep trying. One day, we’re hoping he’ll be able to take part in a conversation.

Scored 113 so far and was feeling quite pleased with myself only to discover a colleague has it on his I touch and is on 364. I fancy I could play it forever and not get near that! Interestingly both our top scores were achieved whilst answering a call of nature (the sit down version). Maybe this could be a top tip?
You guys are struggling! I got 975 yesterday. My high score is 1004. Sorry fellas!

This is a fantastic game – amazing how something so simple can be so addictively fun.
Just heard from Firemint yesterday that they’ve got an update coming with online top scores, stop/restart game for phone call or any other reason and be able to pick back up at the same spot, and other goodies coming too.
U guys are BS. 967? u would have to play for about 4 hours.. i doubt the battery life can even cope..nonsense!

I’ve noticed that I’m able to get an average of high sixty’s now where as before it would be high forty’s.. so i’m making good progress overall…
(high score 81).

I’m on 70 at the moment – hoping to do better during my holiday (some chance).
My top tip is this…. If someone you know is building a higher score than you – phone them up.
