Whose Fault is the Rise of the BNP?
Letters From A Tory writes to Peter Hain about where the blame for the resurgence in the fortunes of the British National Party.
The BNP are extremely adept at knocking on doors and preying on fear themselves, even in the complete absence of a national media platform. When a nice, friendly BNP member strikes up a conservation with a disgruntled local resident who has lost their job and can’t find a home, yet they perceive immigrants to be stealing the jobs and the houses, you can’t fight that with scaremongering. […] Sadly, you don’t seem to realise that Labour’s policies have fuelled this anger.
Related, Blue Eyes says the BNP have already taken over:
Lots of commentators have watched Labour chase the nasty vote as it watches its ‘middle class’ vote collapse in the face of rising anger at what the government has done during its time in power. In fact, the commentators are too late. We already have a racist government.
