Crowd-sourcing Lessons From The Guardian’s Expenses Scandal Experiment
Nieman Journalism Lab analyse the Guardian’s MP’s expenses crowdsourcing app1.
If you are (like me) somebody who believes that the future of journalism lies in what normal, unpaid people are willing to do in the comfort of their living rooms, this story is a highly interesting (and exciting) one. I took great pleasure in summarising a number of expenses receipts when this came out, as, I imagine, did many other people. The fact that it has been carried out by a major newspaper suggests that they’re starting to recognise where their place will be.
It’s the future!
