I suspect there’s a fair few in the Tory party who would nod enthusiastically when they read that

Yep, I had that in the back of my mind while I was writing it. But it's a problem for Governments who've been around for a decade, not for fresh new ones. First term Governments are hoping to make enough stuff better quickly enough to get themselves a second term. That's where the real opportunities are. Three consecutive elections is too many for any party without some kind of radical change - the kind of radical change that only happens in opposition.

Tizzy, it's back up now ;-)

"Doesn’t that just sum up the problem with New Labour? That the only thing that brings them together is the determination to win, and retain, power."

Problem is, I suspect there's a fair few in the Tory party who would nod enthusiastically when they read that...

"Can’t access labour.org.uk – have they all been gagged?"

Gordo's probably put a new Minister in charge of it, without checking they have any IT skills...

One wonders, if the Labour Party weren’t on the path to lose a General Election, whether they would have even noticed these things.

For about a decade, they weren't, and they didn't.
