Blog Reactions to the Carter-Ruck Gagging Order
I have genuinely never seen such a massive and fast reaction to a news story from the blogosphere before. Don’t take my word for it though, have a look for yourself.1
Blog posts in that list include: Guido Fawkes, Mr Eugenides, Devils Kitchen, Harry’s Place, Chicken Yoghurt, Daniel1979, Dizzy Thinks, Raedwald, Stephen’s Linlithgow Journal, Liberal Democrat Voice, Liberal England, The Lone Voice, Alex Massie (notable since this was the first ‘mainstream media’ coverage of this story), Next Left, Peter Black AM, Iain Dale, Subrosa, Ministry of Truth, Me, Tory Politico and Old Holborn.
Richard Wilson has the honour of being first on the case, though. He’d spotted the story and identified the question half an hour before anyone else.
Pretty impressive, this. As JuliaM just commented, it’s the full-on Streisand Effect.
UPDATE: And now, according to the Twitterati, Carter-Ruck have given in and are no longer gagging the Guardian. I call that a victory, don’t you?
I haven’t either… will get Mat to do it when he gets out of the bath if nobody else does it first.
It was a very swift response. I logged off at about 10.15pm last night and went to bed, and by the time I got to work and was logged in at 7.15am it was all pretty much wrapped up.

Do you fancy telling Wikipedia that, because they are giving the credit to Guido.
