From The Guardian:
Within the past hour Trafigura’s legal firm, Carter-Ruck, has abandoned an attempt to prevent the Guardian from reporting proceedings in parliament that revealed its existence.
Funny how the massive amount of support they received from the blogs and on Twitter isn’t even mentioned, isn’t it. Nor the fact that print media’s arch-enemy social media just saved them an expensive legal battle. Particularly seeing as BBC News and other old media outlets remained eerily silent throughout.
I’m sure they meant to say ‘thank you’ – it just, you know, slipped their minds.
Great news that this can now be reported on. 38 Degrees are currently running a campaign to stop this happening again. Take action now by emailing your MP and asking them to take a stand. Take action now, it only takes 2 mins.
“I’m sure they meant to say ‘thank you’ – it just, you know, slipped their minds. “
Heh. How humiliating for them…
Guido et al saved the Guardian a few quid at the cost of a decent scoop tomorrow. Slapped backs all round.
A bit of well earned praise-

People from God’s Own County can have bowlers too; think Bradford and Bingley. Though admittedly when I think of Yorkshire bowlers I think of Freddie Trueman and Darren Gough, not hats.
Heee! Thank you!
I WANNA PROPER YORKSHER FLAT AT! NOT A STUPID SOUTHERN BOWLER!
